Limiting Beliefs

What are your most challenging limiting beliefs?

When we look deep inside our mind and heart, we find that we cannot explain why we have that limiting belief. Yet, we have a limiting belief that alters what we do and how we do it. We allow that limiting belief to keep us from doing what we know we should do, want to do, have to do, and hope to do.

Limiting beliefs allows us to have an 'excuse' for not doing something we should do... and yet, we aren't aware we are using the limiting belief to hold us back.
Not sure what a limiting belief is.

Limiting beliefs are those which constrain us in some way. Just by believing them, we do not think, do or say the things that they inhibit. And in doing so we impoverish our lives. ... Limiting beliefs are often about our selves and our self-identity.

Here are a few examples.

I lack motivation.
I procrastinate too much.
I don’t have time.
I don’t have enough resources.
It’s too late to change.
I have too many responsibilities.
I have no clue who I am.
I have no clue where to start.
I can’t tell the truth because I may get judged…
I don’t want to get close to this person lest my heart gets broken…
I don’t want to ask for what I want because, what if I get rejected?
I can’t trust people because I’ve been betrayed before…
I can’t pursue my dreams because I don’t know what I’d do if I fail…
I can’t do X because of Y…
I can’t do A because of B…

We all have limiting beliefs. Most do not recognize the limiting belief for what it is and how it affects their lives.

While the list above contains 15 common limiting beliefs, yours may not be mentioned here. You may see a bit of your limiting belief when reading the above list. You may recognize your limiting belief after reading this post... you recognize your limiting belief when you say it again.

Go ahead and write down your limiting belief or beliefs. You can start with writing down what you fear. It is in your fears that you find many limiting beliefs.
Write down all the limiting beliefs you can think of... and you will be able to begin the process of addressing them and overcoming them.

***After talking with a friend, I have decided to start recording the posts as an audio - I have a limiting belief about videos... I don't like to see myself on the computer while talking... I spend too much time watching myself to see how horrible or dumb I look... limiting belief there! However, that has nothing to do with the fact that I love to hear the sound of my voice... HAHAHA.... but I am recording audio posts for those who cannot read the posts but are still wanting to hear the messages. I do have to remind you... the audio is not professionally done... it is just me sharing with all my authentic self. ****
